Hiking in Bountiful!!!!!

Our goal this summer was do hike as much as we could. It's free and there are so many hiking trails in Utah!! Matt wasn't in school either and so we tried to spend as much time with each other. This was our favorite hike ever! It's the Mueller Park hike right by the parking and the entrance. It was so pretty that night, the sunset was gorgeous and we enjoyed being with each other!

Some Adjustments to Our Apartment

So my dad gave us this file cabinet, which we really do love!! One day a friend showed me what she did with her filing cabinet....she used tinfoil and sprayed a gold color to her small filing cabinet and it looked darling. I looked up other ideas that you could do to your filing cabinet. you could use anything. I used wrapping paper from Target and modge podged it all. I decided to do it when Matt was on his family's fishing trip. Finally figuring out that it was a lot of work, my neighbor Hope came to help me! This is before......
And this is After!! It was really bright when I finished and wanted to cry. I spent like 9 hours on it and it was so bright. I am used to it now and it matches our green colors in our bedroom really well.
I really liked the picture frame, but not the picture in it. BUT I did like the "Home Rules" List in it. Have you ever seen that list? The "If it cries, love it?" etc. So I decided to adjust it a little bit. I think it's not my best work, but am starting to like it. Every time I passed it I just had to change it.

This is after!

Biking The Rail Trail

Matt and I decided to bike the Rail Trail by my family's cabin. I have always wanted to do it again and we finally did it! (you know when you want to do something but never do it). We couldn't do the whole thing because of construction but it was one of my favorite things we have done this summer. We saw old nails and a chain 9from the railroad that use to go through there?). We also saw an old road that used to come from San Fransisco and was one of the main roads in the 1900's. I didn't realize how much I love to bike until this ride!

Fourth Of July Parade!

Here's a close-up of Josh's cute legs. This is at the Fourth Of July Parade.
I love when Josh crosses his cute chubby legs!
I love this and their face painting

This is so cute with their cotton candy:)

one thing I love about Matt is that he loves to help the kids and play with them. Here he is helping Adelynn with her sticker.
His Happiness
You have to get a snocone for Summer and so Matt wanted one and was happy. Ang was too~
Police sticker they got
She thought it was making sound, but nothing was coming out;)
you can see the small amount of tootsie rolls that Adelynn got compared to the other kids. She was so sweet and willing to let the other kids get the candy.
Cute Catepiller in the parade
Caleb's cool sunglasses
Adelynn.
When the candy got thrown to the kids, she was shy and not too aggressive to get the candy. So She didn't get a lot;( We felt so bad, so we gathered candy for her, but when we gave her the candy she didn't even care to have any, she was just enjoying running and the excitement. She even picked up a few leftover streamers on the ground and was so excited to find something, she wanted to save them in her bag. SO CUTE!

Hill Air Force Base!

This Summer we went to Hill Air Force Base and loved it! If you haven't been there, we highly suggest going. To see and read about all the history was so fascinating. The planes and Helicopters are gnormous!! and it's free!! Here is Matt standing by his favorite helicopter
Here is inside the helicopter, it was so big!
This was my favorite helicopter!
This was way cool, an atomic bomb (of course it isn't connected still to blow up anything)
This is a melted propeller from a plane that crashed from World War 2 that they found.
We loved the decorations and names they would put on the planes. Some planes even had how many missions it had been in.
This was the motion sickness chair.
This was my absolute favorite. Since they had no money during World War 2, the women made their wedding dresses out of old parachutes, because it had the nice fabric they needed.

Hiking Mt. Timpanogos

So our goal this summer was so spend as much time as we could with each other, because in the fall and spring I only see matt like for one day out of the week. We are both very busy and Summer's are what we live for. We have always wanted to hike Timpanogos and go to the cave. It was a hard hike and lots of switchbacks, but it is really worth it if you haven't been.

Tons of water
We ate lunch at a campsite and Matt told me to do a model pose, wasn't so attractive;) ha ha.
This is how much water there was coming down the mountain in the rivers. It was kind of scary.
We noticed that there was a big pack of snow and a clearing of trees. So we think there was either a rock slide or an avalanche!? Kind of cool. This is looking up.
This is looking down the hill.

We like learning about the forest!

The light outside was so bright after we came out of the cave! This is my annoyed, my eyes hurt look.

I didn't realize how many pictures I put up of me (you will notice). Sorry, but this one shows the staligmites in the background.
They can grow from the ground and from the ceiling. No one knows how they can grow from the ground

There were a lot of deep dark holes leading to other caves very creepy.
You can see the staligmites are broken off. People have touched them in the past so it can't grow anymore
To grow from the bottom up takes millions of years
Lots of pools of water
You can see how pitch black it was
This was the light we could see when it was almost over, it was so comforting to know we were getting out and to see light!

This is how high we were up it felt like were on the very top of the mountains
