Green River Trip!

Over Labor Day my whole family decided to go on a camping trip! The Bakers lived in Denver and Thalman's in Richfeild and so Green River, UT was a great meeting place. Matt couldn't come because it was like a month before taking the LSAT and with school and work, etc. he was way too busy. He was the only one that couldn't make it in the family, but everyone missed Matt and kept telling me to tell Matt that they missed him, thanks guys! I missed him to;( but I still went even though I was pretty sick and had a lot of fun! Here is my riding companion Mollie and Tommy is over on the the other side. It was a lot of fun riding with the Mulcocks. It was so funny watching Tommy tease Mollie. He would grab something when she wasn't looking and he was a smart baby. I am sure Mollie has teased him so he was just trying to tease her back. So funny! Sorry Mulcock's I was so sick riding in the car down and back I was already nauseous because I was at my sickest and I had to eat lots of gluten and riding in a car made it worse. It was still fun...reading to Mollie, singing songs together and just talking together. What a cute family!
We camped at the BEST camping ground ever! They had the nicest shower rooms and we camped on a big grassy area right next to the green river. It wasn't too crowded, except for that huge group from India that had big parties at night with loud Indian music. Although we had a big group this camping spot was a perfect place for kids to run a round, bathrooms close, lots of tables, firepit, showers. This was way better than staying in a Hotel. I am serious I am not a huge camper.
The first day we headed to the John Wesley Powell Museum. He is famous for taking the first exploration boating trip down the green river and even down the big grand canyon!!Yes his group took a boat down the big grand canyon. John Wesley Powell only had one arm as well! Go Mr. Powell You Rock! These are the replicas of the boats they took.

They even had dinosaurs at the museum. This area of Utah is known for finding dinosaur bones so Cool!!
They even found this weird sea creature!
Abby, Hallie, Addie, and I by another wierd sea creature they found

We took a picture by a watermelon float because they are famous for their watermelons!
I did buy a watermelon before we left and it's just what you would think it would be.... DELICIOUS!!
I love Josh in this picture he knew to smile but not by us:).
We went to a gyser, cool huh? It didn't go off....it's not timed. Darn! but we walked on the water and saw all the mineral deposits and route it went. It was pretty cool because it was in the middle of no where.

We next hiked Goblin Valley. I have never been. It wasn't busy at all to! We had this canyon to ourselves.

All the little kids kept going in little nooks and cracks, it was so cute watching them explore and run free. It was fun for everyone!
This looks like a Troll from Lord of The Rings
This place gets a thumbs up from Mollie and Addie!
Look at these two love birds
Stormtrooper?

We also went to see the San Rafeal Bridge. It was built in 1920 and was the main highway for a while. It was a big deal when it was built. It was built in the middle of nowhere! It still swings a little bit.

So pretty!

We then headed to see Hyroglyphs and petroglyphs close up it was so cool learned about the indians in this region. We also saw a REAL Dinosaur track!!
This is Hannah playing with the rocks. She had wandered off and no one was with her so I found her. I love when she poses for the camera her mom has trained her well;)PLEASE DONT mind my baby talk. I haven't realized until now how weird it sounds. Maybe when you watch it mute it? ha ha. I don't really care.

The last day before we all went home we found a Ghost Town! It was so small and hidden we almost couldn't find it. It had a little tiny mine by it and a store house and a house that was pretty much it. We got to walk around to see the houses still mostly intact and some old cars. I stole these from Ang, because I didn't bring my camera this day. Darn! Above is outlaw Caleb! I have ALWAYS wanted to see an old Ghost Town and my wish had come true!
Happy vacationing!

Brigham City Temple

At the end of August we went to the Brigham City Temple Open House. It was so neat! Especially that they had free cookies afterward;). What a fun opportunity to see inside the Temple. While we were up by Logan we stopped to go visit my little sister Angelee at Utah State. It happened to be the same day that she was moving in and my mom was helping her. We had lunch at Mo Bettah's. Yum! We then hit the creamies factory store, I think creamies were .19 cents! I had a Mango one it was so good.
Matt's Popsicle was like half melted and all misshapen.

We then headed to Gossner's and loaded up on the best cheese and milk there is;). Here is my mom with the Gossner's sign;).

We then helped my little sister move in and see her roundhouse. Oh boy it is the weirdest house, but looks like she will have lots of fun this year! Yay!

Matt's Birthday

Matt turned the young age of 18 this past August. We first celebrated by going to Tucano's!

Next up was presents of course! Matt was very excited...

I got him a gun that he said he wanted. The funny thing is he took that gun back later on. Ha Ha but he liked the surprise while it lasted;).
Another present I gave Matt was a cooking class at Harmon's. Even though the cooking classes are expensive it was SO fun! We learned a lot! We trained our tastebuds how to differentiate salt, cream sauces and spices, then he made a pasta dish for us. It was well worth it for Matt's birthday! Here is Matt in the car getting ready to drive to the cooking class.

Here is Chef Bob. We talked to him after and he was so nice!

Park City Ghost Tours

Before school started back in the Fall, Matt and I decided to go up to my family's cabin and enjoy a weekend. I have always wanted to ride our bikes on the Rail Trail by Park City. I did it a while back and loved it. It took a lot of time loading and unloading our bikes but we finally made it. It was gorgeous weather and with clear skies. As we rode we stopped to read little plaques about the history and about the railroad that would be on the same trail. I want to do it again in the summer. So much fun to get out and be together. We then headed to Park City because we had a Groupon for The Ghost Tours on Park City's Main Street. I have always wanted to do it. Little did we know that it was the Summer Arts Festival and it was so busy. we almost didn't make it. We had to run all the way up the main street to the top to finally make it AND to pay extra for the arts festival to get in.
We finally found a man dressed in black in a cloak with a staff and two teenage girls as the group we met up with. I was so embarrassed, people were staring at us the whole time as the guide told the stories. He was very animated. We would walk around to historic houses and he would tell us old ghost stories that supposedly happened. It started to get really interesting and fun!
Every time a story ended the guide would make us say with spirit fingers, "Say goodbye to the ghost"! So at every house we would wave goodbye to the ghosts. Ha Ha it was all part of the experience, but I learned that Park City was a bad place before it became a ski town. With the mines it was a terrible place: Prostitutes, murders, alcohol, gambling, drugs. The Chinese would sell drugs under the bridge by Main Street.
We then headed home and got dinner on the way one of my favorite days EVER!!

Matt and I on Main Street
There were these cool animals that moved at the Arts Festival. Main street was so cool, if you haven't been up there in a while they have done a lot of renovations, etc. It's cool up there!

Stephanie's Baby Shower!!!

At the end of July we had a baby shower for our good friend Stephanie Alva. It was so fun seeing everyone, hanging out in such nice weather, and having a little picnic;). I made homemade lemonade, I think Becca liked it!:).
I made that banner hanging up in the tree....I forgot to tape it down oh well. It matched well enough I guess;).
Water bottles I made because it was so hot! sheesh!

Lauren brought yummy sandwiches from Paradise cafe yum! Brie brought fruit and lettuce;) and Becca brought the best dessert.

Becca, Steph (she looked so cute prego!), me, Lauren, and Brie. Thanks for coming everyone! Not picured but they sent their best: Allison, Angela, Kassidy, and Jen. Missed you guys!!

Lauren made the party favors!! So cute! (I still have my box...Love them!) they matched so well to! Thanks Lar!
Becca did an unscrabble the baby words game, and a guess who game with all of the baby pictures of us. We had to guess who each baby was. I think the twins from Harry Potter are on there to? ha ha.

Happy Baby Steph! Lyndon is so cute!
